CONKLIN shreds 6 for 7 pace in last 2 games, BATCHELOR top pitcher

August 01, 2009 Kevin Conklin went 6 for 7 in the last two games to give him the team lead in batting avg, & on base percentage. Conklin led the team with a .325 BA & a .426 OBP. Matt Cook led the team in slugging pct. .466 ripping 6 doubles & one triple. Cook also led the team in RBI's. Cook was second in BA batting .286. Nick Dini was the only player to hit a HR in a game situation. Dini also hit 5 doubles. Mike Scarrone who was called up in for the last eight games went 5 for 19 for a .263 avg with a triple All games were played with WOOD BATS. With the exception of twp players on the team, this was the first year these players played with wood bats. All hits were earned... Zack Batchelor led the team in ERA with a 1.55 striking out 32 batters in 18 innings. Ryan Clark was right behind with a 1.86 ERA. Matt Cook was next with a 2.18. Cook struck out 38 batters in 32 innings. Cook also led in innings pitched. Ted Moke was second in innings pitched hurling in 24.2 innings with a 2.27 ERA.
